What is Speech and Language Therapy?

At work with a clientSpeech and Language Therapy is the process of working with children or adults who have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) to make their communication as effective as possible

How do I work with you?

  • Using discussion, observation and assessment tools I investigate each person’s speech, language and communication strengths and needs. I enhance your awareness of how speech and language develops and how it can change.
  • Through courses of 1-to-1 therapy I aim to build each person’s speech, language and communication strengths and practise strategies to compensate for their weaker skills.
  • I form a supportive and flexible relationship with each person and their families to help develop communication skills together.
  • I work with people around you or your child (e.g. partners, teachers, health and social care professionals, employers) to help them adapt their own communication skills for you or your child’s environment.
